I was lucky to be able to meet and work with the lovely Ayushka, Miss India, recently. Krystal Radinski took Ayushka out on Melrose Ave for some fun and sexy shots.
This makeup look is great for an Indian bride makeup. The smokey eye makeup is perfect for her skin tone and glamorous outfits.

Katie wanted a fresh, luminous and natural bridal look for her wedding day this past August. Mariah Nicole did her beauty makeup was done using pinks and corals on the eyes, cheeks and lips. I curled her beautiful long blond hair with lots of Paul Mitchell Hair Spray-- my favorite is Paul Mitchell Express Style in Medium Hold. It has the juiciest scent that isn't too strong. The wedding was at the Westin in Pasadena, photos by Memories by Michael.

Ines di Santo & Jobyna's Grand Opening at Americana

The day began at 6am at The Bridal Bar. Cici, Samantha, and I loaded up with coffee and a creative vision for this unique bridal parade music video. The famed designer, Ines di Santo, planned to open her LA based store at the Americana at Brand in Glendale with Jobyna's Bridal. We had a few hours to make 8 gorgeous women into fun, fashionable brides....on parade. Thanks to the incredibly talented Stephanie and Moziko of Wind Productions. I have these photos to share.

I know already did this but I just discovered this little genius design for getting Fans so I wanted to use it. I can't seem to be able to place it on any of the wedding websites like WeddingWire.com, ProjectWedding.com or BridalFever.com.
I would LOVE it if you are a current or past client and would go these sites to place a review. It would help me a lot for my standing on the sites, which place you based on the number of reviews, but it also is helpful for me to get feedback from you. Reviews can also be done on the Facebook page.

The Cover Look: Ines Del Mar Destination Weddings

On a beautiful winter day I drove up the coast to Montesito, CA to meet a 7am call-time. Just the previous week I was contacted by Ines Del Mar Magazine and asked to participate in a bridal shoot for the mag's upcoming Issue 6. They wanted the best, so they hired famed photographer Elizabeth Messina to create and capture the romance of a bride-to-be. And what would such an ingenue wear? But Kristey Kelley Couture, of course. The location was the private home of a friend of Elizabeth's.
Makeup and hair styling commenced immediately after Starbucks consumption and a discussion of the type of ethereal beauty we were aiming for. The model's hair was curled with Conair velvet hot rollers, then I perfected the "imperfect" look by twisting the hair around a medium-sized Marcel curling iron. Although she had a beautiful head of hair, we wanted the extra touch: I added a set of long hair extensions (clip-on) to add more length and volume. The final step was brushing and combing through the curls to give a "slept in" look. It was held in place with my favorite hair product: hairspray.
I used a cream-based mineral makeup foundation from Salon Carabella to create a natural and flawless canvas.
I am sharing only a few pages of this issue because I urge you to go out and buy it. It is a beautifully organized and classy publication. I am proud to have chosen to be the makeup and hair stylist for this shoot. The best part? My first cover!!

The Ebell of Los Angeles & YWD Magazine Party

I recently attended a fabulous party hosted by Your Wedding Day Magazine (YWD) at The Ebell of Los Angeles. We celebrated the fabulous-ness and success of YWD in complete wedding fashion. They pulled out the stops on this one, with 3+ areas designed in a creative and distinct fashion from the imaginations of L.A.'s top wedding event planners and YWD's Creative Director. My favorite spot was the classic hall turned into an Indian Wedding Fantasy.
This "Bollywood" style space was the playground for Nikki Khan of Exquisite Events in Westlake Village, CA. Not only did she have the room seem like a swirl of red, orange and gold, but she had talented ladies making mendhi designs for the guests. There were mendhi made on the hands, ankles, fingers, & they all looked great! I got in line pronto and Farah Manekia, a henna artist, free-handed the most beautiful cuff-like mendhi for me. Believe it of not, it took about 5min!
Here is a close-up of the mendhi cuff design Farah made for me. I left the henna on all night, as you can see, to get a rich color. And a week later now, I still have the henna stain adorning my wrist.

Mariah with Color Evolution Makeup at 944 Studios

This is my fun yet quick and unprofessional slideshow of my 2 days at the Red Carpet Event and Green Suite hosted by Durkin Entertainment at the 944 Magazine Studio in Hollywood. The event? A little awards show called The Academy Awards where movie makers take home a little gold statue named, "Oscar."
These pictures were taken by celebrity event photographer, Richard Guaty (richard.guaty@gmail.com), who was so kind to take such attention to my booth. I featured mineral makeup line, Color Evolution and the ladies loved it!
While I won't get an Oscar for this little show, I hope you like it!

Beutiful hair @ The Langham

Thankfully, I received a camera from my boyfriend at Christmas. And I remembered to use it! Here is an idea for your wedding up-do. This bridal hair style was inspired by a look found on-line. This wedding hair style looks perfect with a a tiara and no veil, or the veil worn at the very front. The bride prepared for her big day at The Langham Hotel, formerly the Ritz Carlton of Pasadena. The wedding reception took place near-by at The Castle Green.

ABC-GLA: Event @ the Castle Green

I belong to an association called The Association of Bridal Consultants in Los Angeles-- no, I'm not a planner, too. The ABC may consist mostly of event planners, but anyone in the business of weddings attends these events to meet each other and gain working relationships.

The most recent event was held at The Castle Green in Pasadena. I haven't attended an event in some time, so I was looking forward to seeing some fanmiliar faces. No matter how many of these I've attended over the years, I always meet someone new and it's always beneficial to see again those familar faces. We lead busy lives, and we all need a refresher of who's out there.
I posed with a few old friends. At the top, me and expert planner, Amber Gustafson of Amber Events. Next, I'm posed with a wonderful designer named Allison Howell of The Innovation Companies (www.theinnovationcompanies.com/) known for incredible invitation design.
On a side note, I have no idea why I look so tan, but I like it!
