I recently attended a fabulous party hosted by Your Wedding Day Magazine (YWD) at The Ebell of Los Angeles. We celebrated the fabulous-ness and success of YWD in complete wedding fashion. They pulled out the stops on this one, with 3+ areas designed in a creative and distinct fashion from the imaginations of L.A.'s top wedding event planners and YWD's Creative Director. My favorite spot was the classic hall turned into an Indian Wedding Fantasy.
This "Bollywood" style space was the playground for Nikki Khan of Exquisite Events in Westlake Village, CA. Not only did she have the room seem like a swirl of red, orange and gold, but she had talented ladies making mendhi designs for the
guests. There were mendhi made on the hands, ankles, fingers, & they all looked great! I got in line pronto and Farah Manekia, a henna artist, free-handed the most beautiful cuff-like mendhi for me. Believe it of not, it took about 5min!
Here is a close-up of the mendhi cuff design Farah made for me. I left the henna on all night, as you can see, to get a rich color. And a week later now, I still have the henna stain adorning my wrist.
