Celebrity Makeup: Ah, Wayne Brady

3/11/08
When I mentioned to a few people that I'd have the opportunity to get my brushes & hands on Mr. Brady, I was met with overwhelming "Really?", "I love him", versions of "He's my favorite comedian/He's the funniest guy/ looks very nice," and several mentions of his skit with Dave Chappelle. Admittedly, he knows I don't watch much TV, but I am positive he is every bit as funny as everyone says. What was my reaction? I told him he was MUCH more handsome in person than on TV. Luckily, he didn't mind that bit of flattery and posed for a couple of pictures. Wayne, I know you will probably see these, and I have to say, we look pretty good.

Three 6 Mafia 3/3/08

This day was the bomb-shizzle! Through a good friend, I was able to land this job with Oscar-winning Hip/Hop artists Three 6 Mafia.
Three 6 is the combined genius of Juicy (Jay below with skeleton shirt) and DJ Paul (sitting in the makeup chair). What exactly am I painting on Paul's face? You'll have to buy the new album to find out! Mega-talented photographer Florian Schneider was selected by Sony BMG to capture these guys for their new album (out in June, I believe). I certainly can't complain about a day's work when it involves crazy talented men like them. What does the future hold? Hopefully a music video or two and some wine other than White Zinfandel...

Reality TV?

I recently interviewed for an upcoming reality show called, "Face On." Napoleon Perdis, a renowned makeup artist from Australia, is the star behind this competition to discover the world's next star makeup artist; i.e.  yours truly. Debuting this summer on TLC, "Face On" will capture the realities of makeup artistry as Napoleon works his magic by teaching his makeup techniques.
I don't find out for another 2 weeks! The suspense is killing me! What I've been told is that the winner could get $10G and a position in the company, plus- of course- fame. What more could I ask for? My only fear is that I am not crazy, wild, or fierce enough for TV. But there has to be a balance somewhere, right? What I am confident about is my ability to do fantastic makeup and learn new techniques.
I'll update you  as soon as I know!
