About Mariah Nicole Makeup & Hair Artistry
A professional makeup-artist, Mariah Nicole has been leading others to a more beautiful look in the greater Los Angeles area and beyond for more than eight years. Her clients have included wedding parties, celebrities, up and coming stars and other busy professionals.
Part of her philosophy is to help surface an inner self already there from the start, skillfully enhancing existing features with light-touch to dramatic results, using unique natural, organic-based cosmetics that nurture the skin. Closely communicating with you to discover your precise needs and wants, Mariah Nicole’s steady hand and experienced vision will move you from the routine and regular to a sensible yet stunning look that won’t just transform how you look at yourself, but the way others look at you. What’s more, you’ll be left with an altered and lasting sense of how you can continue to create an outer you that more closely aligns with whom you always knew you were from within.
Mariah began her training from her mother, a well-established makeup artist and skin specialist. At just 16, she jumped at the chance to apply her art skills, accompanying her mom to a celebrity-filled charity event. Continuing with what developed into a long apprenticeship, Mariah began to hone her natural talent for color by mixing custom foundations. She attended Boston University where her aesthetic sense brushed off on her peers, on whom she further perfected her art.
Returning to LA to work a summer charity one year, Mariah Nicole’s
talents began to stand out and her presence was thereafter repeatedly requested. Nonetheless, in 2002, Mariah
moved to New York City where she began work with Laura Mercier Cosmetics at the fashionable Bergdorf Goodman.
It was there she learned the Laura Mercier “Flawless Face” technique from their national makeup artist. After three
years, Southern California’s warm weather beckoned her back and Mariah began work at her mom’s Los Angeles
salon. In addition to gaining further practical knowledge, she began formal studies at the famed Make-Up Designory
(Los Angeles), graduating in Beauty Makeup & Film/TV Hairstyling. Quickly back at the salon, Mariah excelled in
make-overs, consultations, lessons and, above all, her specialty: weddings.
Finding her professional niche in natural, soft-look, custom makeup for brides and elegant artistic hairstyling for that special day, in 2003 Mariah established Mariah Nicole Makeup & Hair Artistry. A culmination of her combined years of professional training, Mariah dedicated her company to the highest standards of excellence, aesthetics and care. A certified member of the Bridal Bar, Mariah Nicole regularly works with the most sought-after photographers and event coordinators in LA. Mariah Nicole does weddings, mitzvahs, private parties, business events and fashion shoots. Provided entirely on client location, Mariah Nicole’s team of artists will travel outside of LA as needed, having done work in Aspen, New York and other sites. Mariah Nicole sees each styling they do as a creation that reflects a true communication of you.
